Christmas Tree Treat Boxes

December 4, 2013 by Rebecca Wagner 2 Comments

Featured in the November/December 2012 issue of CuttingEdge Magazine:

I’m finally glad I can share these adorable little Christmas trees with you. I hit the jackpot when I found them on Waffle Flower’s website for free! If you don’t have a electronic cutting machine, that’s OK. She has the files in PDF format so you can just print out and cut on the dotted lines. How cool is that?

Supplies:
Cut Files: (tree box) Waffle Flower, (star) basic shapes; Cardstock: (Classic Christmas) Core’dinations, (gold foil) Recollections; Patterned Paper: (Very Merry Christmas and Dots and Stripes Christmas) Echo Park Paper, (Jingle Bells) Recollections; Embellishments: (Snowy Woods) Favorite Findings, (Holly Green) Trendy Twine, (Solid Gold Nylon cord) Needleloft, two toothpicks; Tools: Boss Kut Gazelle, Make the Cut software.

Fold according to dash lines, add contrasting panels to front of tree.  Glue star and snowflake button to each toothpick.  Put a dab of glue on the toothpick and slide into top of tree.  Wrap twine around to dress up.  Add goodies to bottom of tree and fold in bottom flap.  May want to add a little strip of tape to keep bottom closed until ready to take candy out.

These are beautiful Becki and I like how you have wrapped the twine around the tree.

These are Crimson Luxe top tabs in two versions: one with reinforced holes, one without.

The goal here is simple:
How well do they hold up when you pop them in, move them around, and reposition dividers as needed?

Early takeaway?
These aren’t meant to be shuffled around constantly like a disc planner. This is more of a place-them-with-intention, then let them live there situation.

I’m testing both versions to see what actually holds up in real use, not just what looks good in photos.
More notes once I’ve abused them a little more. 😏

If this works… I may have just solved a problem that’s been living rent-free in my head.

No promises yet, but I’m cautiously optimistic and slightly smug about it. 💅📒✨

White plastic coil, slim cardboard backing so it slides right into the pocket, and cardstock covers — personalized, not coated.

Alien cover = Monthly Deluxe (with lined pages in back).
Bookshelf cover = Weekly Horizontal Compact.

We did have to cut the deluxe notes section to keep everything on a smaller coil (so the weekly fits), but we’re still testing what else we can add… including a special feature I’m not spilling yet.

Trying to make this thing as functional as humanly possible — stay tuned. 👀✨

Our A5 Coach notebook is finally getting the glow-up she deserves, and we’re playing with different refill styles to see what fits, flips, and feels right inside that TikTok-famous cover.

This spiral beauty is one of the contenders — and yes, we’re this close to having the perfect setup. Stay tuned… it’s all coming together. ✨📚

Who else is ready to upgrade their Coach with something way more functional than the paper it came with?
