Showers of Blessings

Hey, hey everyone! Looks like Trendy Twine has teamed up with Little Scraps of Heaven Designs to bring you some fabulous Design Team inspiration this weekend. Here is the quick card I whipped up using Sky and Posy twine (two of my favorites!) and the umbrella from It's on the Calendar - April file set.

Pretty simple card, really. I ripped a piece of paper in circle, leaving the edges rough for a mask. Then I just used the burlap stamp for a light background image. I think this will make a nice baby shower card. Babies are definitely a blessing, don't you agree? You can always change up the paper on the umbrella if you already know the sex of the baby. Simple and elegant.

You can pick up the two colors I used here in the delicious Cotton Candy trio. It is currently available for the great bundle price of $23. Aren't they just the cutest colors?!?

Pick some up and join us over at Trendy Twine for the monthly challenges. The prizes are great and we love to see all your creativity. Have a great weekend and happy crafting!

Stache-tastic Dad

How cool is it that Trendy Twine has teamed up with The Alley Way Stamps? I had never heard of this stamp company before and I have to tell you I was pleasantly surprised. They have lots of cute stamps. The art work is darling. Take a look and see for yourself.

I am also here to announce the arrival of a new color of twine - Twisted Gumball. It is such a lovely, bright pink and blue. I don't think I have ever seen a more vibrant color twine. Of course, Trendy Twine has it so that makes it the best!

I got the Mustache Mania stamps. Here is my card using the biggest 'stache in the set. Thought I would make a Father's Day card a little early. Love the October Afternoon paper. Goes really well with the mustache.

Love the new twine color? Yep, so do I. It should be ready to go in the store by now. Go grab some and leave a little love on the Trendy Twine Facebook page. Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Twine Hair Pretties

Hello, hello, I'm finally back from hurdling a few life obstacles (a virus that ran through our house like the plague and my husband's father passing away) with a super cool way to use my favorite twine in the world. Lesley, bringer of colorful goodness, challenged us to make flowers with her lovely twine and that's exactly what I did.

Aren't they just too cute?!? I love them. Once I started, it was very hard to stop. I kept thinking of all the twine I wouldn't have for cards and projects if I made an army of these. That and the plague stopped me. :)

I also needed a model. I tried to use my own head and have my youngest take pictures, but that didn't work out so well. Then I remembered my little nephew has hair and he's adorable, except completely mobile. Two and a half year old mobile. Would he stay still long enough, or better yet, let me put flowers in his hair. Believe it or not, he did both.

What a ham! I think he was flirting with the camera. He was also trying to feed my Koi some of his juice. Anything for a picture, buddy.

Ok, you didn't come here to see my sister-in-law's kid, but I love all these pictures. She is going to kill me for putting girly bows in his hair, and he will too when he's 17. Primarily because Aunt Becki showed the world. It's one thing when you bring out the bath time pictures to show the new girlfriend and another when you blog about him wearing hair bows. hehehe Oh I can't wait. ;)

To make the flowers, I used the above flower loom. It's by Clover and called the "Hana-Ami". This loom comes with two different sets of easy to follow instructions to make all kinds of flowers. You can find all sorts of ideas for flower looms on Pinterest. For the French Knot middle on the yellow flower, the instructions are on Knitting-and.com. The four colors I used for my flowers are Lemon TartGrape FizzOrangesicle, and Twisted Lime.

You can also make your own loom. Check out the Pinterest link above for information. These are pretty easy to make, just a little time consuming depending on the type of middle you would like to create. I may do a step-by-step in the future. Life is just too hectic right now for me to get time to make it. Just go a little searching for flower looms and that should get you started on the road to creating these beauties.

Also, don't forget about the April Challenge: Spring into Spring. Please try and enter, you just may win a fabulous twiney prize. :) Trendy Twine also has a great sale on the color of the month:

Pick it up for just $7.95 this month.

Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous crafty day!!

Happy Spring Watering Can

Happy Spring, everyone! I am happy it is Spring even though it still feels like Winter. But to get into the mood I made this delightful watering can. With the paper, cheery Lemon Tart twine, and seasonal stamp from Unity, this makes the perfect gift to stuff some candy in (maybe some of that leftover Easter candy you didn't finish). Like there is any left at our house. hehehe

Just love the Lemon Tart twine? Great! It's on sale all month long for just $7.95. Make sure when you get your order to enter the April Challenge. You could win some nice goodies.

Thanks for stopping by today, I know I haven't been around much. My craft mojo has left the building and I am waiting for it to come back. I just hope I don't have to bury it. :(
