New Baby

April 25, 2012 by Rebecca Wagner 4 Comments

Yea, I finally got to make another baby card!  I have been waiting forever for someone to get pregnant so I could try out pretty light colors and plushie things.  LOL  One of my closest friends and faithful blog reader threw a gender reveal party last Saturday (guess who made the decor? hehe).  If you have never heard of a gender reveal party, it’s where they announce the sex of the baby through a cake or something else edible.  Sometimes the parents know ahead of time or wait with everyone else.  My friend opted for the latter.  Such anticipation, I tell you.  But stay tuned for more from the party on a later post.  Let me get to her card so you all can move on with your busy lives.

See that embossed font?  Those are two of the new Lettering Delights Thin Fonts that can be used to write with your favorite pen in your electronic die-cut machine and Make the Cut.  I explain in more detail what Thin Fonts are on my blog post from last Thursday.  This time I went a little more daring, I used my Zig Squeeze & Roll glue pen in place of a pen.  It worked beautiful (if you don’t squeeze it too much before placing it in the holder).  Came out a little thick but it still is soooo cool to use your glue pen in your machine.  Sky’s the limit, I tell ya!

For the inside sentiment, I used one of my favorite sets from one of my favorite stamp companies – My Thoughts Exactly’s More Big Thoughts.  I love the font for the Congratulations.  I love the retro look.  The giraffe comes from the Pun Intended graphic set from Lettering Delights that I made into a cut file.  I only wanted it in two pieces so it was pretty quick to do.  I used a interwoven circle stamp with watermark ink to give a slight pattern to the giraffe.  Kind of makes it look like a stuffed animal.

That’s all for today.  Hope you enjoyed my new baby card.  Love it?  Please leave a comment.  Hate it?  Keep your thoughts to yourselves.  šŸ˜‰

This would also work with flocking – now that I gotta try!

Thanks, ladies! Yes Nelda, I’m sorry I didn’t clarify. I used the glue then heat embossed it. Guess I should reread my posts better. LOL

Very cute. Love the colors. And you did an awesome job with the Zip glue pen.

    Hugs!

Foil lovers... we heard you. Since our foil equi Foil lovers... we heard you.

Since our foil equipment went down, the messages and emails have not stopped. We know how much you love the look and honestly we love it too.

Replacing commercial foil equipment runs into the tens of thousands of dollars and, like a lot of small businesses right now, that's just not realistic.

After months of testing with our existing setup, we think we found a way to bring foil back.

It's not mass factory perfect. Occasionally there may be a tiny spot where the foil doesn't pull 100%. Nothing obvious, nothing we wouldn't personally use, and nothing that doesn't meet our standards will ship.

But overall? We think it looks pretty gorgeous.

Before we officially bring foil back…

Would you still want it knowing it's handcrafted and not machine perfect?

Tell me honestly in the comments. Your feedback will decide this one.

Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reaso Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reason…

They’re narrow.

And I get it.
Personal is the perfect middle ground. Bigger than Pocket, fits in your purse, but way more portable than A5.

But the width?
That’s always been the complaint.

Lately I’ve been seeing people try to squeeze Personal Wide into standard Personal binders… and then wonder why the pages stick out.

So instead of making it wider… I went the other direction.

Foldouts.

For 2026, I reworked the layout to give you more planning space without changing the footprint.

Month on one page
Straight into your weekly
Dashboard space (because you know I had to keep that)
And when it’s folded?
Standard Personal Size. Fits your binder like it should.

Now I need your opinion before I finalize this…
