Glove Box

June 6, 2012 by Rebecca Wagner 7 Comments

I will admit I have a box problem.  OK, I have a bag problem too.  I am not the kind of girl who has to have lots of shoes or rings, I like bags and boxes.  In fact, I collect them.  It was a sad day for my husband when my friend started selling Thirty-One Gifts.  They have lots and lots of nice bags to carry your crap..erm…junk…ummm stuff in.  Now if they would make boxes too I would be in business.  But I enjoy making them out of paper and this project I have for you today was sooo much fun.

Trendy Twine has a new challenge up for the month of June and even though I can’t participate, I thought it would be cool to still make something using their requirements – Trendy Twine in Blue Berry, three buttons and a bird and/or butterfly.  I think I got it!

I love this Glove Box from SVG Cuts.  It comes from the Mother’s Garden kit.  Whats even better is I didn’t have to embellish it much.  The flowers and butterfly come in the kit.

I also thought it was time I used the Crafty Stack by DCWV I have been hoarding since last Father’s Day. I think it lends a slight old fashioned look to the box.  The hat pin with the three pearls is something I have been interested in these past two weeks.  I have been slowly collecting pearls and beads to make my own.  I am really enjoying making these quick creations.

This box is just the right size for the set of coasters I made for my other friend’s upcoming wedding.  I will show you guys those sometime next week.  She is one of those friends who just loves homemade gifts and I think I picked the right colors out.  Hopefully.  Can’t wait, I love weddings!

Hope this gave you guys some inspiration so you can join us over at Trendy Twine for the challenge. Lesley gives great prizes.  You should definitely jump in on the fun!

Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reaso Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reason…

They’re narrow.

And I get it.
Personal is the perfect middle ground. Bigger than Pocket, fits in your purse, but way more portable than A5.

But the width?
That’s always been the complaint.

Lately I’ve been seeing people try to squeeze Personal Wide into standard Personal binders… and then wonder why the pages stick out.

So instead of making it wider… I went the other direction.

Foldouts.

For 2026, I reworked the layout to give you more planning space without changing the footprint.

Month on one page
Straight into your weekly
Dashboard space (because you know I had to keep that)
And when it’s folded?
Standard Personal Size. Fits your binder like it should.

Now I need your opinion before I finalize this…

What works better in vertical boxes?

Since the Coach notebooks are sold out, I grabbed this leather cover on Amazon to test the fit.
Good news: it fits beautifully (and it’s roomy enough for tabs).

Bad news?
I got excited and didn’t read the whole listing.

No snap.
No elastic.
Just vibes.

Luckily I’ve got elastic on hand… but consider this your reminder from someone who learned the hard way:

Read the full listing, friends.

Sometimes the best combinations aren’t planned… they just happen.

The Aquarelle Sky cover paired with Candy Rush tabs turned out to be one of those moments. The colors line up so perfectly, it looks like they were made for each other.

Just a little unexpected color magic.
