My First Bridal Shower

May 10, 2012 by Rebecca Wagner 1 Comment

You would think with this being my first bridal shower (not counting my own) that I have ever attended, I would have taken better and/or more pictures.  I guess I just got caught up in the excitement of decorating.  I know you probably get sick of hearing how I wanted to keep it simple because of a low budget but it is that way once again.  I enjoy that better.   It shows you can still have a event look good and DIY for cheap.  But I guess that is one of the themes of my blog.  Super simple, money saver.  If you want to see what I made to put her gift in, check out yesterdays post – Bustier Purse.

Here is one of the bouquets that adorned the tables.  We put up one big centerpiece and a small four flower bouquet on each end.  The roses were found free in the form of a PDF file at Ellinee.  I just brought the file into Make the Cut leaving the sizing the same and cut.  I followed the directions from the blog, only splitting it up from one to six bouquets.  Every place setting even had a cute little pillow box of chocolates.  What’s a ladies gathering without chocolate right?

A close-up in natural light.  It was so handy that Rachel’s wedding colors are silver, black and turquoise because I had lots of the perfect shade of blue leftover from our Ladies Christmas Banquet.  See, it’s always good to hoard…erm….I mean keep your surplus supplies.

My friend Trish (who was a great little helper) found this cute idea on Pinterest of using branches with lights intertwined and a few butterflies as the centerpiece.  I thought it was great because it was economical and took up a large amount of space (means I had less to make ^__^).  We also added some tulle to make it look fuller.  Trish loved them so much she now has the branches across the tops of her kitchen cabinets.  LOL  She is a bit of a butterfly nut.

Another closer look.  My pictures are a bit cruddy.  I don’t see these pictures doing it enough justice.  I don’t think the shimmery paper and the twinkling lights are coming across.  Oh well, hope you might be able to get an idea.  If you have any questions, just leave a comment and I will answer as soon as I can. The weekend is coming and for some reason at my house that’s when life gets crazier.  Most people look forward to it when I typically look forward to Monday.  That’s when things slow down at the Wagner household.  Everyone, have a great day and happy crafting!
