Some Bunny Loves You

March 28, 2012 by Rebecca Wagner 4 Comments

Alright everyone, be gentle.  This is the first time I have used my Spectrum Noir markers to color.  This was after much research on how to use them.  >.<  I think I did alright but I need to work on shadows and hair.  But practice makes perfect and that means I have to buy more digis.  hehe. The Tiddly Inks “Best Friends Forever” challenge spurred me to finally try my hand at coloring.  I also killed two birds with one stone and designed the card using the latest Mojo Monday template for their sketch challenge #234.  Tiddly Inks has some of the cutest digi stamps.  I have been drooling over them for a long time and hoarding the freebies till I purchased alcohol markers.  So I am excited about this card.  Sentiment is from the new Easter Greetings set from My Thoughts Exactly.   Perfect for some fuzzy bunny love Wryn is getting.

Hope you enjoyed my card and if you have any sites or tips for learning to use alcohol markers, let me know in the comments.  I need all the help I can get.

hehehehehe, thanks Bee! I have been getting Manga and How to Draw books from the library trying to learn how to color. Her hair is off but it was a noble effort. LOL I appreciate the kind words.

Well I think you did great, especially for a 1st attempt!! I like her hair and skin very much actually. The only thing you could improve maybe is actually use less color (like not going over the same area too much) and you should experiment with different papers as the results can be very different. You need a paper that isn’t too absorbent, something a little glossy is better because ink will stay on the surface and that’s what allows you to blend better. But I think you did a fab job! šŸ˜€

Thanks for the tips, Bee. I was watching a video that said to saturate the first color so the others will blend, that’s why there is so much color. It actually blended better than my scrap piece. I didn’t know how the colors were going to look, next time I will choose more carefully. I don’t care for the color combos I chose.

I used double-sided photo paper. It wasn’t too absorbent. It could be better. I found some Bristol and Manga paper for markers but I spend so much for the markers I just couldn’t spend more to buy special paper. When the guilt wears off I will. LOL

Foil lovers... we heard you. Since our foil equi Foil lovers... we heard you.

Since our foil equipment went down, the messages and emails have not stopped. We know how much you love the look and honestly we love it too.

Replacing commercial foil equipment runs into the tens of thousands of dollars and, like a lot of small businesses right now, that's just not realistic.

After months of testing with our existing setup, we think we found a way to bring foil back.

It's not mass factory perfect. Occasionally there may be a tiny spot where the foil doesn't pull 100%. Nothing obvious, nothing we wouldn't personally use, and nothing that doesn't meet our standards will ship.

But overall? We think it looks pretty gorgeous.

Before we officially bring foil back…

Would you still want it knowing it's handcrafted and not machine perfect?

Tell me honestly in the comments. Your feedback will decide this one.

Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reaso Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reason…

They’re narrow.

And I get it.
Personal is the perfect middle ground. Bigger than Pocket, fits in your purse, but way more portable than A5.

But the width?
That’s always been the complaint.

Lately I’ve been seeing people try to squeeze Personal Wide into standard Personal binders… and then wonder why the pages stick out.

So instead of making it wider… I went the other direction.

Foldouts.

For 2026, I reworked the layout to give you more planning space without changing the footprint.

Month on one page
Straight into your weekly
Dashboard space (because you know I had to keep that)
And when it’s folded?
Standard Personal Size. Fits your binder like it should.

Now I need your opinion before I finalize this…

What works better in vertical boxes?
