Easter Card in a Box

April 7, 2014 by Rebecca Wagner 8 Comments

easter card boxIt seems these card in a box projects are all the rage. Everywhere I look, crafters are doing some amazing stuff with them. I am not normally one to follow the crowd, but a friend told me I could get a box card file for free. So why not try this craze out!

easter card boxIt just so happens that Ken’s Kreations made the basic box in SVG and Studio format for you to embellish anyway you like. Well, I like Easter projects right now. Wouldn’t an adorable chickie scene be so precious? OK, I know the eggs in back are super big compared to the basket. Just pretend the basket is in the next county. Hmmm, k?

easter card boxLikewise, what rolling eggs would be complete without a little Trendy Twine grass. Makes such a cute effect. I think the bunny needs to stop by with the lawn mower soon.

easter card boxAnother great thing about this kind of card is you have lots of space to play with if you so desire. I used the Easter Egg Fun by Prettygrafikdesign. There are so many cute graphics in this set, it was hard to choose which ones to use. Aren’t those chicks and bunny adorable. I love Sarah’s designs. They are almost always the first I go to when designing printables for my store. Keep a lookout at Etsy, Sarah also has the best sales pretty regularly.

easter card boxA little more twine to hold the tiny banner in place. Watermelon Taffy is the quintessential Spring twine. It makes me happy just looking at it.

easter card boxFinally, we come to the painting zone. I added the shadow layer for easier cutting on him, white doesn’t trace very well in cutting software. I did add in the tulips behind the bunny to create a little scene too. Love the soft colors of the Springtime collection by Echo Park Paper. It goes together with the graphics perfectly.

I really like this card in a box. It is something I can see me making for different occasions. I like that it folds flat for mailing even though it needs a pretty big envelope. I sent this card off a few days ago and forgot to measure the size I used. Sorry about that. If you don’t have any large envelopes laying around, you can always modify the file to make it a little smaller. Although you will have less room for decorations obviously.

Here’s what I used:
Card in a Box SVG – Ken’s Kreations
Easter Egg Fun – Prettygrafikdesign
Limeade & Watermelon Taffy twine – Trendy Twine
Springtime collection – Echo Park Paper
Easter Greetings – My Thoughts Exactly stamps

So very cute!! Love the twine grass.
When Ken created his Studio file, I made the MTC, SVG and PDF formats. If anyone would like to download those formats, you can find them here:https://www.facebook.com/ScrappyDewCreations/posts/745350705475009?stream_ref=10

Thanks so much! I would have made another row of grass, but I didn’t want to part with more of my twine. šŸ™‚

Foil lovers... we heard you. Since our foil equi Foil lovers... we heard you.

Since our foil equipment went down, the messages and emails have not stopped. We know how much you love the look and honestly we love it too.

Replacing commercial foil equipment runs into the tens of thousands of dollars and, like a lot of small businesses right now, that's just not realistic.

After months of testing with our existing setup, we think we found a way to bring foil back.

It's not mass factory perfect. Occasionally there may be a tiny spot where the foil doesn't pull 100%. Nothing obvious, nothing we wouldn't personally use, and nothing that doesn't meet our standards will ship.

But overall? We think it looks pretty gorgeous.

Before we officially bring foil back…

Would you still want it knowing it's handcrafted and not machine perfect?

Tell me honestly in the comments. Your feedback will decide this one.

Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reaso Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reason…

They’re narrow.

And I get it.
Personal is the perfect middle ground. Bigger than Pocket, fits in your purse, but way more portable than A5.

But the width?
That’s always been the complaint.

Lately I’ve been seeing people try to squeeze Personal Wide into standard Personal binders… and then wonder why the pages stick out.

So instead of making it wider… I went the other direction.

Foldouts.

For 2026, I reworked the layout to give you more planning space without changing the footprint.

Month on one page
Straight into your weekly
Dashboard space (because you know I had to keep that)
And when it’s folded?
Standard Personal Size. Fits your binder like it should.

Now I need your opinion before I finalize this…
