Happiness Card

January 30, 2013 by Rebecca Wagner 5 Comments

I’m back again with another Asian creation. I love how this card turned out. Especially with a few extra touches from my Painty Twin Gold pen. You don’t have to be an professional artist to use these fine pens and markers. You can use them on your everyday crafting. They can really add some oomph to an already great project.

I used the Graphic 45 Bird Song collection for this card. It comes with a beautiful gold on black paper. I wanted this to be the base of my card. The gold is a little faded, so I decided to get out my Painty and draw over the designs. It made them really pop off the page. My paper looks handmade now. I love, love this effect. Best part is I didn’t have to have any artistic talent.

I did the same with the silver side of the pen on the print. I love the added interest here and there. This card reminds me of those vintage wooden scroll calendars with gold/silver accents my uncle used to send us from overseas every year. I just may keep this card for myself to display in my living room.

The sentiment was written with the ZIG Memory Writer and I highlighted the “h” in gold. Pop your layers together with some glue dots, add a bow, and you have yourself a beautiful card with Asian flair.

Simple, yet beautiful thanks to my gold Painty and Graphic 45 papers. I have to make a series of these!

Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reaso Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reason…

They’re narrow.

And I get it.
Personal is the perfect middle ground. Bigger than Pocket, fits in your purse, but way more portable than A5.

But the width?
That’s always been the complaint.

Lately I’ve been seeing people try to squeeze Personal Wide into standard Personal binders… and then wonder why the pages stick out.

So instead of making it wider… I went the other direction.

Foldouts.

For 2026, I reworked the layout to give you more planning space without changing the footprint.

Month on one page
Straight into your weekly
Dashboard space (because you know I had to keep that)
And when it’s folded?
Standard Personal Size. Fits your binder like it should.

Now I need your opinion before I finalize this…

Since the Coach notebooks are sold out, I grabbed this leather cover on Amazon to test the fit.
Good news: it fits beautifully (and it’s roomy enough for tabs).

Bad news?
I got excited and didn’t read the whole listing.

No snap.
No elastic.
Just vibes.

Luckily I’ve got elastic on hand… but consider this your reminder from someone who learned the hard way:

Read the full listing, friends.

Sometimes the best combinations aren’t planned… they just happen.

The Aquarelle Sky cover paired with Candy Rush tabs turned out to be one of those moments. The colors line up so perfectly, it looks like they were made for each other.

Just a little unexpected color magic.
