God Save the Queen

June 13, 2012 by Rebecca Wagner 6 Comments

Hehehe, boy do I have a card for you today!  I just happen to be cruising the internet and came across the Kuretake blog and they were having a challenge.  A very cool red, white and blue challenge with a bit of added bling.  Since they are a UK company, I decided to make my card something they would be familiar with – the Union Jack!  Oh and a bulldog wearing a crown.I really wanted to have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi wearing the crown but my youngest informed me it might be offensive (hey, the Queen and I have those pooches in common.  My next dog is going to be a Corgi!  If I can get past the shedding).  OK, I guess to be on the safe side the bulldog will be wearing the crown. *shrugs*  Plus I needed an excuse to use the Royal Wedding set by Lettering Delights again.

The white was much too bright to my eyes, that gave me an idea to grunge it up a bit.  As you can tell, I am not that great at grungy.  I like the way the card looks anyway.   I just learned how to get stuff nice and neat so it is going to take time to make it look worn.  Since I didn’t feel right entering a Kuretake ZIG challenge without using any of their products, I used my ZIG Two Way glue pen and ZIG Millennium pen in black to draw the sentiment using my Boss Kut Gazelle.

I’m going to send this to my mom for Fourth of July.  She will wonder what in the world I am doing.  I love messing with her.  hehehe  Let me know what you think in the comments, you know I love to hear them!!  Have a great day and happy crafting!

Supplies:
Royal Wedding by Lettering Delights
ZIG Memory System Millennium in black
Recollections papers in red, white, blue and gold

Meet the Still Here Notepad.
A gentle reset for the days that hurt, when the smallest wins still count.

Foil lovers... we heard you. Since our foil equi Foil lovers... we heard you.

Since our foil equipment went down, the messages and emails have not stopped. We know how much you love the look and honestly we love it too.

Replacing commercial foil equipment runs into the tens of thousands of dollars and, like a lot of small businesses right now, that's just not realistic.

After months of testing with our existing setup, we think we found a way to bring foil back.

It's not mass factory perfect. Occasionally there may be a tiny spot where the foil doesn't pull 100%. Nothing obvious, nothing we wouldn't personally use, and nothing that doesn't meet our standards will ship.

But overall? We think it looks pretty gorgeous.

Before we officially bring foil back…

Would you still want it knowing it's handcrafted and not machine perfect?

Tell me honestly in the comments. Your feedback will decide this one.

Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reaso Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reason…

They’re narrow.

And I get it.
Personal is the perfect middle ground. Bigger than Pocket, fits in your purse, but way more portable than A5.

But the width?
That’s always been the complaint.

Lately I’ve been seeing people try to squeeze Personal Wide into standard Personal binders… and then wonder why the pages stick out.

So instead of making it wider… I went the other direction.

Foldouts.

For 2026, I reworked the layout to give you more planning space without changing the footprint.

Month on one page
Straight into your weekly
Dashboard space (because you know I had to keep that)
And when it’s folded?
Standard Personal Size. Fits your binder like it should.

Now I need your opinion before I finalize this…
