A Roaring Birthday

February 4, 2012 by Rebecca Wagner 3 Comments

Happy Saturday everyone!  Just have a quick Print n Cut card I made for my friend’s son to go with his 3D letters.  Since he just turned 3, he doesn’t need to be walking around with embellishments that might fall off and magically jump in his little brother’s mouth. So, clean and super simple it is.

I used the Safari Kids color graphics from Kristi Dailey. I didn’t even have to decorate the frame except the title and name.  Super easy.  In hindsight, I will have my Silhouette SD cut out the inside too.  I used Kraft paper for the base but didn’t think about letting that show through behind the elements till it was too late and I had to get to the party.

I had cut out the lion to go on the 3D letters but I had already used too many animals.  That’s when the idea for this card came.  He was supposed to be a pop-up on the front but was too big.  He covered up my little monkey.  So I did the next best thing to not waste him – he gets to be all warm and snuggly on the inside.

If you are looking for really cute, inexpensive graphics for Print N Cut, Kristi Dailey is the place to be.  I am not really into bears with clothes but her Fairy Bears are too stinking cute.  Go check them out!  Kristi is also this week’s challenge sponsor over at the Make the Cut forum.  If you use MTC, come over and enter.  We would love to see what you create and if you are chosen the winner, Kristi has a great prize for you!

Hope you enjoyed today’s card.  Come back soon to see more projects and giveaways.  Have a great weekend and happy crafting!

Good news: when everything’s written down, at least the chaos is organized.

Pay it. Check it off. Pretend you’re thriving.

Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reaso Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reason…

They’re narrow.

And I get it.
Personal is the perfect middle ground. Bigger than Pocket, fits in your purse, but way more portable than A5.

But the width?
That’s always been the complaint.

Lately I’ve been seeing people try to squeeze Personal Wide into standard Personal binders… and then wonder why the pages stick out.

So instead of making it wider… I went the other direction.

Foldouts.

For 2026, I reworked the layout to give you more planning space without changing the footprint.

Month on one page
Straight into your weekly
Dashboard space (because you know I had to keep that)
And when it’s folded?
Standard Personal Size. Fits your binder like it should.

Now I need your opinion before I finalize this…

What works better in vertical boxes?

Field research, planner style. Since the Coach no Field research, planner style.

Since the Coach notebooks are sold out, I grabbed this leather cover on Amazon to test the fit.
Good news: it fits beautifully (and it’s roomy enough for tabs).

Bad news?
I got excited and didn’t read the whole listing.

No snap.
No elastic.
Just vibes.

Luckily I’ve got elastic on hand… but consider this your reminder from someone who learned the hard way:

Read the full listing, friends.

Sometimes the best combinations aren’t planned… they just happen.

The Aquarelle Sky cover paired with Candy Rush tabs turned out to be one of those moments. The colors line up so perfectly, it looks like they were made for each other.

Just a little unexpected color magic.
