Jin Inspired Nancy Kubo Gift Tags

December 24, 2011 by Rebecca Wagner 5 Comments

I sure most of you all know who Jin from Under a Cherry Tree is.  A crafter extraordinaire!  She recently made some adorable Christmas gift tags using Lettering Delights‘s new Nancy Happy Holidays graphics set.  Yes, that Nancy.  Of Create-a-Critter Cricut cartridge fame.  It was the one cart I had longed for when I had my Expression but never bought because I didn’t see the need with two teenage boys.

Today for an early Christmas present, my wonderful hubby purchased me the Teacher Subscription at Lettering Delights (I home school)!  So these are the first of many projects to come for these little cuties.

Jin had asked if anyone was inspired by her tags (can you say YES!) and used her latest tutorial for making them.  Well, I didn’t have the files yet (was hoping they were under the tree ^__^) but I was definitely inspired after reading how she put these together.  I had determined they were first on my to-do list.

Any of you who read my blog know I am a Make the Cut girl, all the way.  Jin used Silhouette Studio.  I do have it and it’s easy to use, I just prefer Make the Cut with the Silhouette plug-in.  If you only have Make the Cut, that’s OK.  You can still follow her tutorial, that’s what I did and they came out great!  As you can see my Silhouette SD cut these perfect and spot on.

I was in a bit of a hurry and didn’t put all the bells and whistles that Jin did.  Hubby came home early from work surprising me with a date night then over a friend’s house we don’t get to see that often.  Yay!  So no complaints here.  Of course, no gift tag is complete without some yummy, delicious twine!  The color used here is Twisted Lime.  I love the two greens together like that.  It goes good for Christmas too.

This will probably be my last post before Christmas, I just want to say a big Merry Christmas to you and yours.  Be safe and may you unwrap lots of crafty toys!

Foil lovers... we heard you. Since our foil equi Foil lovers... we heard you.

Since our foil equipment went down, the messages and emails have not stopped. We know how much you love the look and honestly we love it too.

Replacing commercial foil equipment runs into the tens of thousands of dollars and, like a lot of small businesses right now, that's just not realistic.

After months of testing with our existing setup, we think we found a way to bring foil back.

It's not mass factory perfect. Occasionally there may be a tiny spot where the foil doesn't pull 100%. Nothing obvious, nothing we wouldn't personally use, and nothing that doesn't meet our standards will ship.

But overall? We think it looks pretty gorgeous.

Before we officially bring foil back…

Would you still want it knowing it's handcrafted and not machine perfect?

Tell me honestly in the comments. Your feedback will decide this one.

Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reaso Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reason…

They’re narrow.

And I get it.
Personal is the perfect middle ground. Bigger than Pocket, fits in your purse, but way more portable than A5.

But the width?
That’s always been the complaint.

Lately I’ve been seeing people try to squeeze Personal Wide into standard Personal binders… and then wonder why the pages stick out.

So instead of making it wider… I went the other direction.

Foldouts.

For 2026, I reworked the layout to give you more planning space without changing the footprint.

Month on one page
Straight into your weekly
Dashboard space (because you know I had to keep that)
And when it’s folded?
Standard Personal Size. Fits your binder like it should.

Now I need your opinion before I finalize this…
