Easy Snow Globe Card

December 12, 2011 by Rebecca Wagner 4 Comments

Hey everyone and a very special hello to my new followers, glad you decided to stop and stay a while!  Today is just a quick post for the snow globe card I made for the Nutcrackers in November challenge number nine over at the Make the Cut forum.  What’s great about him is that he folds flat and fits in an A2 sized envelope.  Full instructions with video and free file are available on the forum.  Be sure to check out everyone’s cards for some great inspiration.

The snowman and sentiment from the top was a little gift from A Jillian Vance Design they included with my Tim Holtz Distress Ink order.  How sweet of them to add it and a big THANK YOU too!  He is so cute.  I did hand cut the stamp and used Bic Mark-It markers to color him in.  The snowflakes and sentiment are embossed to give a 3D effect.

If you are looking for a quick card that has that ooo and ahhh effect, this is it.  I made two cards with different insides (you will have to wait for the second one).  There are so many ways this can be made, simple like mine or go all out with snow like some did.  Go get the file and post your creations on my Facebook page.  I would love to see what you made.

Also, going on now is a new challenge for December – Angel Ornament.  Be sure to check it out too and enter if you are using Make the Cut software with your cutter (one of the only rules).  If you have a cutter compatible with the greatest software known to man but don’t have the software, you can purchase it here.  Use code MTC905 to get 27% off the purchase price.   We would love to see what you guys make.  Have a great day and happy crafting!

These snow globe cards are great! What did you use as the clear part?

Thanks for the comment. They are pretty easy to do too. I used copier transparencies that I bought at a online school specialty store.

And that’s something.

Meet the Still Here Notepad.
A gentle reset for the days that hurt, when the smallest wins still count.

Foil lovers... we heard you. Since our foil equi Foil lovers... we heard you.

Since our foil equipment went down, the messages and emails have not stopped. We know how much you love the look and honestly we love it too.

Replacing commercial foil equipment runs into the tens of thousands of dollars and, like a lot of small businesses right now, that's just not realistic.

After months of testing with our existing setup, we think we found a way to bring foil back.

It's not mass factory perfect. Occasionally there may be a tiny spot where the foil doesn't pull 100%. Nothing obvious, nothing we wouldn't personally use, and nothing that doesn't meet our standards will ship.

But overall? We think it looks pretty gorgeous.

Before we officially bring foil back…

Would you still want it knowing it's handcrafted and not machine perfect?

Tell me honestly in the comments. Your feedback will decide this one.

Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reaso Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reason…

They’re narrow.

And I get it.
Personal is the perfect middle ground. Bigger than Pocket, fits in your purse, but way more portable than A5.

But the width?
That’s always been the complaint.

Lately I’ve been seeing people try to squeeze Personal Wide into standard Personal binders… and then wonder why the pages stick out.

So instead of making it wider… I went the other direction.

Foldouts.

For 2026, I reworked the layout to give you more planning space without changing the footprint.

Month on one page
Straight into your weekly
Dashboard space (because you know I had to keep that)
And when it’s folded?
Standard Personal Size. Fits your binder like it should.

Now I need your opinion before I finalize this…

What works better in vertical boxes?
