So, I am watching the movie “Chef” the other day when one of my kids mentions Cinco de Mayo is coming up. That gives me a great idea for a craft project. Why not make a truck like the one in the movie except instead of Cuban food, style it for Cinco de Mayo? I really needed to get an idea to get myself back into crafting. This is my Cinco de Mayo craft – taco truck.
The taco truck is an ode to all the vendors from Chicago and Columbus that have some of the best Mexican food on the planet. Working downtown Chicago, gives you an opportunity to try all sorts of food. I never did make it to the Taste of Chicago. Even after being born and raised there. I know, it’s a travesty. It truly is.
The Foodies set from Annie’s Paper Boutique has a taco stamp. There is a cute smiley face, but I masked it out. All the sentiments excluding the name of the truck are also from the same set. I also loved going to the historic Market Square in San Antonio. That is where I got the idea for the bright papers. That place has the most beautiful stoneware and pottery in the boldest color combos I have ever seen. I love visiting there. The market will cheer you up on your gloomiest day. If you have never been there, it makes a wonderful vacation destination.
