Another Challenge!

June 14, 2011 by Rebecca Wagner 7 Comments

It’s week 3 of the Paper Dolls challenge and that means a new set of SVG files to play with.  The totally terrific free files come from the talented Belinda of Bee’s Hive O’Drama!  Did I already mention they are free!  So jet over there to pick them up and join the challenge too.  I have to admit, I am having fun entering my projects.  It gives me a chance to practice and challenge myself.

When I saw the project from Alyssa at My Thoughts Exactly, it gave me an idea.  I have some close friends who are moving this summer.  So, I thought I would make a little gift card holder to put a housewarming present in.

Besides the house files from Belinda, I used the Sweet Nothings gift card set from Lettering Delights.  You will hear me repeatedly talk of and see me use their files.  I just love them, I practically have every one of their SVG sets.  One of the best things about LD is that they actually listen to their customers.  I asked them if they would make some sets that would appeal to teenage boys, my boys in particular.  They asked me what I would like to see and said they are going to work on it.  How awesome is that!?!?  Great customer service is a must these days.  People are not as free with their money as they used to be.  Well, that is another post, I won’t jump down that rabbit hole here.   Now, back to the project.

Here is a close-up of the heart shaped gem.  I found a pack of 75 assorted gems at Target in the dollar section.  Have any of scrounged around in there?  They usually have some really nice scrapbook items.  Gel pens, paper, gems, alpha stickers, etc.  The paper is the English Garden stack from Making Memories and some Recollections solid colors from Michaels.  All in all, I think it came out rather nice.  As I do more maybe it won’t take me forever to pick out paper and think of ideas. LOL.  Thanks for taking the time to check out my project!  Come back again and don’t forget to leave me some love by commenting.  Also become a friend of the Happy Card Factory!

    Thanks everyone.

Thienly, I decided I am not going to fiddle-fart around when making something. I am going to trust my instincts and just pick the paper out! If it works great, if not, oh well. LOL

Foil lovers... we heard you. Since our foil equi Foil lovers... we heard you.

Since our foil equipment went down, the messages and emails have not stopped. We know how much you love the look and honestly we love it too.

Replacing commercial foil equipment runs into the tens of thousands of dollars and, like a lot of small businesses right now, that's just not realistic.

After months of testing with our existing setup, we think we found a way to bring foil back.

It's not mass factory perfect. Occasionally there may be a tiny spot where the foil doesn't pull 100%. Nothing obvious, nothing we wouldn't personally use, and nothing that doesn't meet our standards will ship.

But overall? We think it looks pretty gorgeous.

Before we officially bring foil back…

Would you still want it knowing it's handcrafted and not machine perfect?

Tell me honestly in the comments. Your feedback will decide this one.

Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reaso Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reason…

They’re narrow.

And I get it.
Personal is the perfect middle ground. Bigger than Pocket, fits in your purse, but way more portable than A5.

But the width?
That’s always been the complaint.

Lately I’ve been seeing people try to squeeze Personal Wide into standard Personal binders… and then wonder why the pages stick out.

So instead of making it wider… I went the other direction.

Foldouts.

For 2026, I reworked the layout to give you more planning space without changing the footprint.

Month on one page
Straight into your weekly
Dashboard space (because you know I had to keep that)
And when it’s folded?
Standard Personal Size. Fits your binder like it should.

Now I need your opinion before I finalize this…
