Fang-tastic Blog Hop – Day 4

October 10, 2011 by Rebecca Wagner 7 Comments

I am sad that today is the last day of the hop.  I have been having so much fun making projects and stretching my skills to try new techniques.  Thanks so much for joining me and the rest of the gang on the hop.  Hope you all will stay around and keep checking back for new projects.

As usual lately, I have been using the awesome Bee Witching Collection and Bee Scared 3D Tree by SVGs by Bee.  If you haven’t been to her website and checked out all the great files, please go now!  You will not be sorry.  The tombstones and moon are in the collection whereas the tree is a separate purchase.  The sign was made by me in Make the Cut.  I will have it available for download at the end of this post for free.

I used some homemade glimmer mist on the tree to give it an aged looked. Yes, that is glow in the dark eyes with hand drawn fangs.  They were not part of the file but it kicks up the spook a notch. I have to give mad props to my Boss Kut Gazelle.  The eyes on the tombstone are only a tenth of an inch and cut out beautifully.  The spiders on the background are a Sizzix Texturz Halloween plate.

I thought Alyssa’s sentiment stamp went perfectly with the front of this card.  I used the Ghostly Greetings set.  Here’s a closeup.

Perfect, isn’t it?  Hehehe.  The slight curve in the “Happy Halloween” was intentional.  I should have done it a little more.  Looks cool.  I took another whack with the Dremel.  It distressed much better this time.  I just put a little more rear in it.  And if you have seen mine, you know the Dremel was scared! Hilde was jealous that Curry got face time here on my blog, so she posed for this picture.  She is a crazy one.

Can you believe she was the runt of the litter?!?  As far as Great Danes go, she is rather small.  But she’s still our little baby girl!  I think she is apologizing here for all those brown spots she keeps putting in our lawn.  Naughty girl! Today is the last day to enter the giveaway.   I will be drawing a winner on Tuesday, October 11th hopefully by noon.  To enter, please follow the directions on Day 1’s post which can be found here.  Only comments made on “DAY 1” will be entered into the giveaway. Here is the line-up again if you didn’t hop the first day or want to go through again time:

I love how you embossed the background and inked it. And the use of Bee’s SVGs – just wonderful. What a great hop this was, so so so many awesome projects. Great job! Melanie

I love it darling! For someone who doesn’t usually “like” Halloween you are having WAY to much fun! I’m so lucky to have you;) (Oh and the ICU Tree is in the Bee Witching collection but the 3-D tree is sold AlaCarte) But HEY you haven’t picked a winner yet:)

Becki–you ended with a nice card. It has the right balance of elements. I like the glowing tombstones.

Thanks everyone! I know Bee! It seems I am a closet Halloween nut. I just had so many ideas I couldn’t believe it. There is a link up there for both elements, the collection and the 3D tree. Just so you know. 🙂

Foil lovers... we heard you. Since our foil equi Foil lovers... we heard you.

Since our foil equipment went down, the messages and emails have not stopped. We know how much you love the look and honestly we love it too.

Replacing commercial foil equipment runs into the tens of thousands of dollars and, like a lot of small businesses right now, that's just not realistic.

After months of testing with our existing setup, we think we found a way to bring foil back.

It's not mass factory perfect. Occasionally there may be a tiny spot where the foil doesn't pull 100%. Nothing obvious, nothing we wouldn't personally use, and nothing that doesn't meet our standards will ship.

But overall? We think it looks pretty gorgeous.

Before we officially bring foil back…

Would you still want it knowing it's handcrafted and not machine perfect?

Tell me honestly in the comments. Your feedback will decide this one.

Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reaso Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reason…

They’re narrow.

And I get it.
Personal is the perfect middle ground. Bigger than Pocket, fits in your purse, but way more portable than A5.

But the width?
That’s always been the complaint.

Lately I’ve been seeing people try to squeeze Personal Wide into standard Personal binders… and then wonder why the pages stick out.

So instead of making it wider… I went the other direction.

Foldouts.

For 2026, I reworked the layout to give you more planning space without changing the footprint.

Month on one page
Straight into your weekly
Dashboard space (because you know I had to keep that)
And when it’s folded?
Standard Personal Size. Fits your binder like it should.

Now I need your opinion before I finalize this…

What works better in vertical boxes?
