Bee-utiful

April 4, 2012 by Rebecca Wagner 6 Comments

I love a good challenge and this one was quite cool.  A few weeks ago there was a flap card challenge with a file made by my friend Michelle over at MichelleMyBelle Creations on the Make the Cut forum.  I decided since the lovely Belinda of SVGs by Bee was the sponsor and I am on her Design Team, I would use one of her amazing files.  I have always wanted to use the Vintage Bees, so I gave it a try.  Here’s my card, what do you think?

I used ribbon and a pearl brad to keep the card from opening.  It is easy to slip off towards the top.  I also used a clear acetate sheet to cut out the wings then daubed them with Broken China Distress Ink to give them a little color.  That’s pretty much it.  Super easy, yet beautiful card.  Hope you enjoyed and happy crafting!

Supplies:
Vintage Bees by SVGs by Bee
Bee-utiful from The Birds and the Bees by My Thoughts Exactly
Flap card base from MichelleMyBelle Creations
Label 1 Nestabilities by Spellbinders
various embellishments

Hey there Becki, we are our own worst critics! LOL Referring to the comment you left on my blog about your creations.

This is bee-utiful, just like the rest of your projects! Love that Bee and the Lace just adds the perfect touch.

So we've been asked about junk journals with divid So we've been asked about junk journals with dividers, and I thought... why not? We had some gorgeous colored paper sitting around and I figured let's see if anybody else wants one.

This is our 5x8 Junk Journal. Handmade right here in Kentucky with colorful paper, printed patterns, white pages, some cardstock, chipboard covers, and a chunky spiral coil. Every single one is a different mix, so no two are alike.

The best part? You can add chipboard tab dividers to organize your sections however you want. Available with or without dividers. Free shipping, always.

Right now it's only in our Etsy shop. Link in bio.

And since I'm already playing with colored paper again... we're seriously thinking about bringing it back for our ring binder and disc-bound planner inserts too. Would you want that? Tell me in the comments.

Foil lovers... we heard you. Since our foil equi Foil lovers... we heard you.

Since our foil equipment went down, the messages and emails have not stopped. We know how much you love the look and honestly we love it too.

Replacing commercial foil equipment runs into the tens of thousands of dollars and, like a lot of small businesses right now, that's just not realistic.

After months of testing with our existing setup, we think we found a way to bring foil back.

It's not mass factory perfect. Occasionally there may be a tiny spot where the foil doesn't pull 100%. Nothing obvious, nothing we wouldn't personally use, and nothing that doesn't meet our standards will ship.

But overall? We think it looks pretty gorgeous.

Before we officially bring foil back…

Would you still want it knowing it's handcrafted and not machine perfect?

Tell me honestly in the comments. Your feedback will decide this one.
