Motorcycle Birthday card

September 18, 2015 by Rebecca Wagner 2 Comments

Wow, I have been so busy I didn’t realize there was no post in August. I really hate when I don’t get at least one crafty project or tutorial up. Sorry about that. Time just gets away from me these days. To show you just how bad it does, my card today is for my nephew’s birthday. It was in July….ugh. I know, I’m a terrible aunt. I get points for at least getting one out, right? At least I am getting my nieces out today for her September birthday.

Motorcycle birthday card 3

My nephew loves motorcycles, he helps his dad “fix” the ones in his shop. So Fleurette Bloom Designs Motorcycle Racing set was the way to go. Even though the set doesn’t come with a motorcycle birthday card, it is real easy to make one with the included elements. I was intrigued by the motorcycle box, but sending it all the way to Ohio wasn’t a good idea to me. Instead, I used elements from various parts of the kit.

Motorcycle birthday card 1I used the offset from the box to make a mat for my motorcycle and the card base. To keep the card quick and easy, the Stars and Stripes motorcycle printable (no need cutting all the little pieces of the bike and reassembling them) and the decorative bike pieces from the SVG (made into a Print n’ Cut) gave the motorcycle a dimensional, pieced together look fast. The flag shape and sentiment (made by me) was added to the cycle offset card base along with the kit’s highway lane stripe to complete my shaped motorcycle birthday card.

For the inside, I added a sentiment on another offset. Adds a nice little touch. I really hope that kid likes his card. Chances are he will probably destroy it within an hour.

To make your own motorcycle card, check out the Motorcycle Racing 3D SVG kit from Fleurette Bloom Designs!

Love it Becki! Never can get enough “boy/male” card ideas! Hope your nephew loved his card and hasn’t destroyed it yet 🙂

Nothing ruins a perfectly good month like… bills Nothing ruins a perfectly good month like… bills.

Good news: when everything’s written down, at least the chaos is organized.

Pay it. Check it off. Pretend you’re thriving.

Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reaso Personal Size planners get a bad rap for one reason…

They’re narrow.

And I get it.
Personal is the perfect middle ground. Bigger than Pocket, fits in your purse, but way more portable than A5.

But the width?
That’s always been the complaint.

Lately I’ve been seeing people try to squeeze Personal Wide into standard Personal binders… and then wonder why the pages stick out.

So instead of making it wider… I went the other direction.

Foldouts.

For 2026, I reworked the layout to give you more planning space without changing the footprint.

Month on one page
Straight into your weekly
Dashboard space (because you know I had to keep that)
And when it’s folded?
Standard Personal Size. Fits your binder like it should.

Now I need your opinion before I finalize this…

What works better in vertical boxes?

Since the Coach notebooks are sold out, I grabbed this leather cover on Amazon to test the fit.
Good news: it fits beautifully (and it’s roomy enough for tabs).

Bad news?
I got excited and didn’t read the whole listing.

No snap.
No elastic.
Just vibes.

Luckily I’ve got elastic on hand… but consider this your reminder from someone who learned the hard way:

Read the full listing, friends.

Sometimes the best combinations aren’t planned… they just happen.

The Aquarelle Sky cover paired with Candy Rush tabs turned out to be one of those moments. The colors line up so perfectly, it looks like they were made for each other.

Just a little unexpected color magic.
