Pumpkin Treat Box

August 26, 2013 by Rebecca Wagner Leave a Comment

From the September/October 2012 issue of CuttingEdge Magazine.

Since I was part of CuttingEdge Magazine for so long, I have quite a few projects and tutorials I would like to share with you. Now that I finally have my craft room in working order and my son seems to be healing from his broken wrist, I can start posting new projects I have been working on. There will be some shots of my new room with the magazine stuff mixed in. My room is nothing out of Better Homes and Garden, but I love it. It’s my hideaway. Candi, you might want to skip those posts as I have an accent wall. I just couldn’t commit. ;P I also will spare you my nails. Ha!

I know the magazine pictures are not that great, but bare with me as most of the CEM projects were almost a year ago and we were keeping it simple. We grew and evolved, so we started using more color in the backgrounds as time went on. I can definitely tell I have come a little ways in my crafting (thank goodness). That is what is great about blogs. We can share to show how far we have come and encourage each other to continue on the crafty path towards even bigger and better things.

I want to thank my regular readers for sticking with me through the good and not-so-good side of my crafting adventures. I heart you all!

Supplies:

Paper: Midnight Magic by Recollections, solid cardstock by Recollections; Cut Files: Pinch Box by Lettering Delights, My Thoughts Exactly Fright Night Friends SVG – candy corn, My Thoughts Exactly Jack-O-Lantern SVG, Oval Scallop frame; Halloween Subway Art stamps by My Thoughts Exactly; Orange Licorice by Trendy Twine; Adhesive: Scotch ATG, 3D Zots; Ink: Memento in Tuxedo Black; Spectrum Noir markers; Tools: circle hole punch, Silhouette Cameo, Make the Cut software.
Cut out pinch box using electronic die cutter. Fold along score lines. Glue along side tabs, close. Fold bottom flaps closed using adhesive on the last flap. Using a 12″ long by 3″ wide piece of paper, score 3 times every 2.75″ to make belly band. Stamp Halloween phrases on belly band to give interest. Wrap band around carton and adhere to itself. Using the pumpkin and candy corn stamps, ink and center on their respective cut outs. Color candy corn with markers.  Glue pumpkin to scallop frame and adhere with 3D glue dots, do the same with candy corn. Punch two holes after folding down the box flap on top. Thread twine through holes to secure closed.

This 6x8 spiral notebook pairs the Swept Away cover with our Botanical Notes dot grid inside—soft florals, clean space, and just enough structure to catch all the thoughts that refuse to stay quiet.

We won’t lie, we miss the foil. ✨ But when our We won’t lie, we miss the foil. ✨
But when our foiling machine officially kicked the bucket, we rolled up our sleeves and got creative instead.

Meet the four new gradients stepping in as foil’s glow-up cousins. No drama, just smooth color and crisp prints. And judging by the reviews… yeah, people are loving them.
