Kiss Me Banner

March 12, 2012 by Rebecca Wagner 33 Comments

Top O’ the morning to ya!  How are you all doing this fine raining Monday?  You have sunshine and warm weather?  pffft!  Lucky you.  Well, it’s not so bad when you have a cute little project to share like I do today.  This was my first time ever making rosettes.  Not too bad if I do say myself.

We were all over this weekend with company from both sides of the family.  I decided to speed up my project by using the Print N’ Cut method for the lettering.  I used the Charmed Life alphabet from Lettering Delights.  I was so excited I finally had a use for their alphas.  I think they are so cute but have never worked them into a project before.  And the new Charmed Life collection is simply adorable!

My Gazelle was used for the base and rosettes, since I don’t have the upgraded motherboard yet I used my Silhouette SD for the Print N’ Cut.   Super quick and simple yet again.  I love it!  And seeing that I am Irish, my husband doesn’t complain when I decorate for St. Patrick’s Day.  hehehe

Supplies:
Pennants by Lettering Delights
Accordion Fold Rosettes by Lettering Delights
Charmed Life Alpha by Lettering Delights
WorldWin DoubleMates in Emerald Isle for base & rosettes
Bold Basics stack by Recollections
Twisted Lime by Trendy Twine

Your banner is adorable Becki! Don’t tell belinda you didn’t have any trouble with the rosettes 😛 For the print and cut letters did you use MTC or the Sil studio? I’ve only done print and cut from the Sil studio because I’m not so sure how to go about it in MTC. I guess I would need to pixel trace each alpha letter but I am such a horrible pixel tracer, even with all the new options. Anyway, your banner is too cute 🙂 And to answer your question, I guess Easter Beasties is one of my favorite LD spring sets 🙂 they’re just so funny 😀

I did it in MTC. LD’s graphics are really easy to pixel trace. Just jack up the numbers to get the outline. You can use the alpha trace with them which it usually easier.

I know about the rosettes. I was thinking about her when I was having trouble. LOL

I’ll have to give it a try with some alphas, in the few times I’ve tried to trace something in MTC that I wanted to print n cut It seemed like I’d jack it up and up and up and it would never be all filled in, and then I’d go up one more and bam, it would just be a square >.< But you've inspired me to give it another try! I guess we'll see 🙂

You must let me know how it goes. I just get upset because the graphics lag in MTC but no Sil Studio. Andy said it has something to do with how Windows handles graphics. Hopefully he can do something about it. I mean if its fine in Studio surely Andy, the software master, can fix it. ^__^

These are Crimson Luxe top tabs in two versions: one with reinforced holes, one without.

The goal here is simple:
How well do they hold up when you pop them in, move them around, and reposition dividers as needed?

Early takeaway?
These aren’t meant to be shuffled around constantly like a disc planner. This is more of a place-them-with-intention, then let them live there situation.

I’m testing both versions to see what actually holds up in real use, not just what looks good in photos.
More notes once I’ve abused them a little more. 😏
