A Haunting We Will Go

Hey everyone, just thought I would show you my quick and easy goodie bag I made.  You can also get it for free.  Details after the jump.

You know, I don't know if its my camera, lighting or the paper is so light, but I used my Sizzix embossing plate of the grey paper.  It has Halloween phrases on it.  It's sad that you guys can't see the texture on it.  It's probably my poor photography skills. o__O

Of course, I used the super awesome Ghostly Greetings by My Thoughts Exactly and the new Grey Licorice Trendy Twine to finish with the perfect touch.  I love how quick this bag was to slap together, and I love it even more because I got it free from Shery K Designs for MyGrafico.

Here's Your Sign

A very spooky Halloween sign to be exact!  Hi, I'm back with scary uses of twine for this heart-pounding holiday.  OK, my ghosts aren't that scary but I do think it was a genius use of the Orange Licorice twine, if I do say so myself.  LOL  I don't decorate for Halloween, but my sister asked if I had made anything else that she could steal to decorate her home.  I think this is definitely for her.  It's my brother, me and her all in ghost form.  My brother is the first one, wondering why he was blessed with two sisters and instead of brothers.  Poor guy. :(

It's hard to get a glimpse of the Wink of Stella glitter pen I used on the inside of the lettering from my camera.  So if you are wondering what that weird looking stuff is, blame my camera for not picking up the cool iridescence of the pen.  Much shinier in person.  LOL

To make the sign, you need balsa wood cut to the size you want.  It's pretty easy to do this yourself as the wood is pretty thin.  I cut the ends to make them look old and distressed then proceeded to just rub my ink pad across it. For the lettering, I needed to tape the wood down on my mat to make sure it didn't stayed put.

In went my Millennium pen to outline the letters and bats.  (This is why I love my Gazelle so much!) I can't remember where I got the graphic.  It was before I had my blog and didn't keep track of such things.  Since the wood is too thick to go under the rollers, I moved them to one end and placed the board vertical versus horizontal on the mat.  Hit cut, and let it do it's magic.  I then put a bead of glue tracing the letters, and laying the twine around.  Cut out the ghosts and glue to back.  I made them a little under 3" and cut them in half so they would show the whole ghost behind the sign. I colored in my bats with the ZIG Writer in black, then outlined them with the Calligraphy pen in silver.  I think that is everything.

Hope you enjoyed my sign.  You know I love comments.  Have a great day and happy crafting!

Spooky Snacks

I wanted to have a go with the State Line Co. bags again.  But this time I wanted to stamp on them to see for myself how they turn out.  I kept my goodie bags pretty simple for my little nieces.  Knowing them they will want to keep them, so they will get used pretty good.  Probably put hair bows or something else girly and take away from the spookiness.  Girls....*sigh*

Here is a shot before all the yummies were poured in.  My camera didn't pick it up very well, but I hit the ghost, moon and spider web with the ZIG Memory System Wink of Stella pen in clear.  Just gives the right amount of silvery shimmer.  Under the bats and the candy corn, I used the ZIG Memory System Calligraphy metallic colour pens in silver to give them dimension.  Of course, all the lovely images you see stamped here come from just one amazing set - Fright Night Friends.  So many images, so little time.  Ahhh.....

Now they are filled to the brim with candy corn and those gross, hard little pumpkins.  Who invented those anyway?  It's amazing what kids will eat.  LOL That's all for today.  Have a great day and happy crafting!

Coffin Filled with Goodies

No, I swear this one does have goodies. Not the usually skeleton fare.  OK, it does have a skeleton, but not one that is edible.  I couldn't find any of those so candy corn will have to do.  I love this coffin box. It is really big so it is able to hold loads of candy.  A requirement at our house!

I will admit, I didn't really make this box to fill with candy.  I made it because I needed an excuse to use the new color Midnight by Trendy Twine.  Oh, how I love this color!  I probably could have made anything, not just a coffin for this color to look fabulous.  Don't you think?

Well, I have to jet people.  Maybe I will take my coffin with me and eat all the candy on the run!  HaHa Have a great day and happy crafting!

Don't forget the giveaway going on now for the Spectrum Noir marker sets!!

Spider Box

Want to see my cute little Halloween box that I made? But first, I have a big announcement.  I can finally shout it out that I have made the Kuretake ZIG! Design Team!!  Holla!  I am so excited to be part of this great company.  There is some amazing talent on the team.  I have been so nervous this past week. There is no way I can make anything remotely as creative as those girls.  Uber creative that bunch is!

OK, now that I am sitting down, I can show you my spider topped mini box from My Scrap Chick.  Since it is not very deep, I can see loading it will plastic spiders and giving it to my friend who is terrified of the eight-legged sweeties.  I can be so mean sometimes.  muahahahaha

I mean, I did warn her with the "beware" sign right?  If she opens it, it was her own fault.  Who is seriously scared of plastic spiders?  She is, that's who.  I love it.  I need entertainment of this sort since my boys are practically grown and don't scare easily anymore.  I guess I need a different hobby. ^__^

Thanks for stopping by, and checking out my announcement and project.  Head over to Kuretake's blog and tell them what a big mistake they made by picking me. ;P

Blingin' My Gazelle

Have you ever wanted to add a little bling to your favorite craft tool?  Well, I sure did.  What better way to jazz my Gazelle up then using the pink diamond sticker sheets from the Buckle Boutique!  Here she is before.

How do I use the dazzling diamonds on one of my most prized possessions?  A lot of people like to put butterflies or other creatures in vinyl on their machines.  I thought something in diamonds would be a better choice for her.  After all, she is my princess.  Maybe her name in sparkles?

I took the sticker off very carefully and placed it on my scanner.  I wanted to keep the same font that Boss Kut uses.  So I brought the label into Make the Cut using Pixel Trace.  Then using only the word "gazelle," set about cutting the pink diamonds.

Hehehe, isn't that the coolest thing?  I thought because of the thickness of the sheets, I would have a hard time cutting out a font.  The font cut so quickly and easily using my deep cut blade with a force of 3 and a speed of 1. I just couldn't believe it. Amazing! Of course, she is an amazing machine.  Here's a close-up.

You guys really need to get some of these diamond stickers and play around.  I just can't stop!  I am not a bling kind of person, but these may just change my mind.  Go take a look at what other beautiful colors The Buckle Boutique has available!

Don't forget about the Spectrum Noir marker giveaway going on now right here on my blog!

Spectrum Noir Marker Giveaway

So, I haven't done a giveaway in a while, and I'm sorry.  I usually try to do one a month.  Life is just so busy lately I never seem to even have time to post on my blog anymore.  I hate that.  I can't think of a better way to bring a little life back over here at the factory then some goodies to give away.  I won the complete set of Spectrum Noir alcohol markers from Crafter's Companion.  I already had quite a few, therefore I will share with my loyal readers my duplicates!  Everyone needs to try these awesome markers out.

I didn't have time to make anything new, although I have made a few cards with these markers already.  I am just going to give you a few of samples of my work.  I am still learning how to use these markers to the best of their ability, don't judge them on my lack of coloring skills please. ^__^

I am giving away three packs of markers in the Essentials, Pale Hues, and Browns to one lucky winner. That's 18 markers total!  So, who wants to win?!?  Just follow the instructions on the widget below to enter.  The giveaway ends on Friday, October 19th.  I will pull a name and announce it in a post here on the blog.  Have a great day and happy crafting!
